Katie joined the Fox 4 team in April 2022. You may recognize her from a decade ago, when she worked at another local TV station from 2011 to 2014.
After her first stint in Fort Myers, Katie moved to Atlanta, where she worked for WSB-TV (Channel 2 Action News) for six years. She then spent about two years in Charlotte, North Carolina before returning to the Sunshine State.
She earned her Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) seal from the American Meteorological Society (AMS) in 2010. She has served on several AMS boards including the Board on Broadcast Meteorology, the CBM Exam Review Committee and Committee on the Station Scientist.
After rigorous testing, Katie earned her Certified Consulting Meteorologist (CCM) designation, also from AMS in 2024. (There are only 191 active CCMs in the U.S.) Continuing her endeavor to never stop learning, Katie earned an Undergraduate Certificate in Emergency Management from Florida State University in 2025.
Katie graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Florida State University with her Bachelor’s Degree in Meteorology in 2007. (Fun fact: In between the calculus and dynamics classes, Katie performed in the Florida State Flying High Circus!) Following FSU she attended Penn State for her Master’s Degree in Meteorology, where she honed her forecasting skills and focused her thesis on flooding patterns in the Northern Hemisphere.
Katie lives in Cape Coral with her husband and two sons. She enjoys spending time with her family outdoors, especially at the beach.
