Eric Lovelace joins Fox 4 from the University of Missouri, M-I-Z! He’s been tasked with covering the communities of Naples, Estero and Bonita Springs, and the rest of Collier County. While at Mizzou, Eric was a reporter and anchor for KOMU 8 News, the NBC affiliate in Mid-Missouri. Eric covered state politics, multiple rounds of local and statewide elections, and some high-profile court cases. Eric would label himself a storyteller because he believes one of the most powerful ways to communicate information is through sharing lived experience.
Although Eric did spend time reporting inside Missouri’s captiol, he’s most passionate about bringing those decisions out into the community to tell the stories of the people truly impacted. Eric tries to go the extra mile to find the stories, and people who are not clearly visible.
Eric was a Division 1 athlete at Mizzou, where he competed for the wrestling team for five seasons. Once he finished competing, he wanted to keep an active lifestyle, so he took up running and lifting. If you see him running the streets or trails of Southwest Florida, don’t hesitate to say hi!

What does Eric love about Naples?
I really love how kind everyone is, and how they have welcomed me into their community with open arms. I really love walking 5th Avenue, but since I’m so new, I’m so excited to see all the hidden gems in the entirety of Naples that I haven’t discovered yet!
