PUNTA GORDA, Fla. — Charlotte County deputies are investigating an assault inside the county jail.
Deputies say a victim was unconscious after the assault on Monday. The inmate was taken to the hospital for their injuries. Corrections officers identified the suspect.
It's not clear who the inmates are or the injuries sustained.
The Sheriff's Office is investigating.
