BOKEELIA, Fla. — The Pine Island Fire Department said it responded to an active fire on Useppa Island, Tuesday morning.
The Useppa Fire Chief told us the fire started from a cigarette smoldering in a bucket on exterior of building from the day before.
Crews told Fox 4 that there are no injuries, thankfully, after they were called around 6 a.m. As of 8 a.m., crews were still on scene.
Fox 4 is working to learn more about the cause and how serious the damage is.
