CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- — It's nothing you haven't heard before: lock your doors.

But, after receiving two videos showing the importance of doing just that...we had to remind our viewers again.

A woman in Lehigh Acres woke up to a 3:30a.m. notification on her phone this morning.

It was her motion-activated camera system. Someone was lurking around the cars parked in her driveway.

But, they weren't able to get in and claim any goods for themselves. The doors were locked.

Not too long after, the Cape Coral Police Department shared that they need the public's help in identifying a suspect in yet another video.

This time, the suspect walked up to the car, attempted to open the passenger door.. but failed. It was locked.

After shining a flashlight inside of the car, he attempted to get into another car parked in the driveway. It was also locked. He left, and returned

with a crow bar - attempting to break the car window.

He was unsuccessful and ran away.

Lock your doors, Southwest Florida.
