FORT MYERS, Fla. -- On Christmas Eve, many of the children were patiently (or impatiently) awaiting Santa.
But, Santa had to make one important stop that day. That stop was at Florida Cancer Specialist.
Santa is Stephen Brown, and he considers it an honor and privilege to visit patients at the treatment center.
He himself is a patient whose hair grew back white after Brown's treatment for Stage IV Metastatic Melanoma. He says that his health is improving, and doctors are still trying to figure out exactly why his hair changed colors.
In the meantime, he's taking full advantage - especially during this season. "While I'm working with the doctors to fix that, we're enjoying the fact that I get to look like that...and I get to enjoy playing the role of Santa Claus", Brown said.
Florida Cancer Specialists say they are grateful for the joy Brown brought to the center's patients and staff.
