The SpaceX launch of the Falcon 9 from Cape Canaveral this morning created noctilucent, or “night-shining,” clouds as the sun was coming up over the horizon here in Southwest Florida!
While the sun was not above the horizon yet, the rays were. The sun’s rays were just peaking around the curvature of the earth and illuminating the ice crystals/vapor from the launch.
