FORT MYERS, FLa. — The Friendship Missionary Baptist Church hosted a retirement celebration for Pastor James A. Bing on Saturday evening.
The celebration was at the Heritage Palms Golf & Country Club in Fort Myers. The event's theme was “Good and Faithful Servant ,Matthew 25:23."
Pastor James A. Bing served as the pastor of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church for 48 years, from Jan. 20, 1974 to Dec. 31, 2021.
Before coming to Friendship Missionary, Bing was pastor at the Greater Union Baptist Church in Deland for eight years.
Church members say that thanks to Pastor Bing, Friendship Missionary is debt-free, has a number of renovations and improvements either completed or in the works, and is the primary landowner of the property surrounding the church.
