Update 1:15 pm
Fox 4 Community Correspondent, Hunter Walterman, watched the dramatic moments unfold along with several other people, including William Humes.
Humes and his family are guests at the Luminary Hotel. Humes said they are in town for the 2025 Fort Myers college basketball tip off. Humes said he was going to Starbucks with his daughter when two people pointed at an animal on top of the hotel.
“So we turned and we looked, and we were in amazement, as a matter of fact." Humes said. “Myself being a dog lover, with four dogs, I’ve been consumed just observing, wondering how long this is going to take.”
The coyote jumped off the small ledge and into the hotel parking garage. FWC says it was not caught in the garage and was last seen walking in the direction of McGregor Blvd.
