UPDATE 7:45 p.m.:

Because of the water main break, around 3,000 Collier County Public Utilities customers are under a boil water notice. The break caused low water pressure for customers in the north part of the county.

If you are impacted, the county says it notified you through the "NotifyNow" customer notification system.

The county says around 300 customers in the Tuscany Pointe and Bucks Run neighborhoods are experiencing a temporary water service outage.

They will get bottled water from the county, while the affected customers under the notice will be notified when the notice is lifted.

According to the county, the break happened when a contractor bored through the 24-inch water main. Repairs are expected to take about 12-14 hours.

While this happens, one lane of Collier Boulevard will be closed until the repairs are done.

ORIGINAL STORY:

The Collier County Sheriff's Office says a water main break has shut down two lanes on Collier Boulevard, just north of Vanderbilt Beach Road.

With the road being down to one lane, deputies are asking drivers to find an alternate route, if possible.

The sheriff's office is helping with traffic control. It's not know how long the lanes will be shut down for.
