UPDATE 4:15 p.m.:

A spokesperson for the city said the cover came off the 45-mph sign and it has been replaced.

Due to ongoing work for the UEP project, the city said the correct speed limit is 35.

"Drivers are encouraged to contact 311 if they see an issue like this, either by calling 311, emailing 311@capecoral.gov, or by using the 311 Cape Coral app," the city said in a statement to Fox 4.

Some neighbors in Cape Coral say they are concerned about a conflicting message in their community.

The two signs are located at Tropicana Parkway and Santa Barbara Boulevard.

FOX 4's Bella Line reached out to the City of Cape Coral about the two signs, and is awaiting a response.
