CAPE CORAL, Fla. — The Cape Coral Police Department confirms to Fox 4 that three people are dead after a crash on Burnt Store Road on Monday around 8:30 p.m.
Police said a truck on Burnt Store Road was going south, while another truck was pulling a trailer north.
An SUV was traveling behind the trailer truck, according to police.
Investigators say the southbound truck drifted across the center line, and hit one of the other truck's rear tires.
The northbound truck then lost control, according to police, and the southbound truck hit the SUV.
Cape Coral police say the SUV rolled off the road.
Firefighters conducted extensive extrication on two of the three vehicles involved, according to police.
Officers said the driver of the southbound truck and both people inside the SUV died.
The victims have been identified.
The Cape Coral Police Department says Laura Lee Beasley, 48, was driving the southbound truck.
The two people inside of the SUV were Gary Lee Galiher, 77, and Norma Jean Ralston, 79, the department says.
The northbound truck driver suffered minor injuries.
While roads were affected during the initial response, officers tell us all roads in the area reopened as of 3 a.m. Tuesday.
