SOUTH FORT MYERS, Fla. — A local Italian restaurant that is getting creative to give you and your kids something fun to do at home during the Coronavirus pandemic. They're also doing something else to give back to the community.
Two Meatballs in the Kitchen is off of Daniels Parkway in South Fort Myers. They've closed their dining room because of COVID-19, but are open for takeout and delivery.
"We've implemented our own delivery service, which is free of charge. We use Uber Eats, Bite Squad, Postmates," the owner, Franco Russo said.
He said their General Manager, Luigi, came up with the idea to sell $10 take-home pizza kits to keep you and your kids occupied.

"We were in the kitchen together and he was saying that he thought it would be cool if kids could take the pizza home and make it themselves, so we kind a looked at each other and said 'Hey, we have all the ingredients here. Let's put them all in a box.' We put the instructions on the inner flap of the box," Russo said.
He said they started posting pictures of the pizza kits on Facebook, and it really took off.
"We've had some orders of 10 at a time," he said. "It's been really cool. the kids are loving it, the adults are loving it. So people are definitely coming in for those."
He said he's glad to give people something fun to do during this time, but they also wanted to do something to give back. He said a generous local woman called up their restaurant and inspired them to do more.
"She wanted to remain anonymous, but she wanted to donate $1,000 to Two Meatballs, but what she wanted to do was have that $1,000 split up into gift cards, and then have us go and donate it to people that we felt needed it. We decided to match that donation and any donation that comes in moving forward," Russo said.
They've already donated gift cards to the Lee County Sheriff's Office and South Trail Fire Department.
