FORT MYERS, Fla. – The City of Fort Myers says the toxic sludge removal process in Dunbar is complete.
In a memo released Friday, the city says is has “completed its voluntary cleanup of the lime residual at the South Street property” and finished the remaining site work.
They will also relocate the fence surrounding it and further stabilize the site before the rainy season begins.
The city has plans for three sections of the site: a stormwater management area, a neighborhood park, and a privately-owned section zoned for residential use.
Projects will move forward once soil testing is completed.
