A Lehigh Acres woman told Lee County Sheriff’s Office she was robbed at gunpoint while making a deposit at an ATM.
It happened at the Wells Fargo on Homestead Road North.
The woman told deputies she was sitting in her car when a man opened her car door, pointed a pistol at her, and took her deposit bag.
“What! That’s messed up,” Cleveon Jackson of Lehigh Acres said.
The woman told Fox 4 the crook took off with almost $2,500, but also robbed her of her sense of security, leaving her traumatized.
People at the bank on Monday night said they’re going to start rethinking their routine.
“It’s better if you do it in the afternoon,” Jorge Alvarado of Lehigh Acres said.
“It’s better to go through the drive through. It’s safer that way,” Jackson said. “I’ll check my rear view mirror and stuff like that just to make sure nobody is too close.”
The victim told Fox4 the person who did this was too covered up for her to see. He was wearing black clothes and a mask over his face.
