Woman burned in domestic violence incident in Fort Myers

LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- A woman was burned in a domestic violence incident in Fort Myers Tuesday afternoon.

The call came out originally as a fire on Evans Avenue, but investigators say the woman was seriously burned.

Police say they took someone in custody on Franklin Court.

A woman claiming to be the victim's daughter says a friend, who stops by once in a while, set the back door of the building on fire.

The victim tried to stop him but she was set on fire too.

She says the gas can the man was using fell, causing the fire to spread.

Police say the woman was severely burned.
