FORT MYERS -- The search is on for a man who attacked a woman and tried to sexually assault her in North Fort Myers.
The victim says she was walking near Barbie Lane and Tucker Lane Monday night around 8:00. Before she knew it, a man pushed her to the ground. And because of the incident, neighbors say they're concerned for their kids.
A local mom, who didn't want to reveal her name says the attack forced her to change her daily routine, and now she's rethinking how safe her kids are.
"When I came home I immediately locked my kids in my car and walked around my home to make sure nobody was here before I got my kids out of my vehicle," she said. "My kids aren't allowed outside. They're allowed out back and that's about it."
Another mom said she's worried about the women in her family.
"I have nieces and cousins and aunts and my sisters and they're all right here where this happened," said the other mom.
She's also upset that deputies didn't let her and others know what happened sooner. Deputies have provided a description of the attacker: A man who rode away on a black bike, wearing a black hoodie and cowboy boots. She said that's not a very specific description.
"I will keep my eye out. Unfortunately, we're in a side of town where everyone wears cowboy boots. And to distinguish anybody out of that it's kinda gonna be hard."
