Volunteers sew for breast cancer survivors

Volunteers with Susan G. Komen's Project Hope sew and knit bags, pillows and shawls for Breast cancer survivors across Southwest Florida.

Project Hope volunteers dedicate their time and talent to craft kits for patients, working to give them hope. The bags, pillows and shawls are made to help comfort them during treatment and let them know someone cares for them.

If you or anyone you know is interested in sewing or knitting for survivors, you can pick up pre-cut sewing and knitting kits to bring home and work as long or as little as needed. There is no time limit.

The kits can be picked up from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Susan G. Komen office at 4061 Bonita Beach Road in Bonita Springs. Staff says it's best to call before heading there. You can reach them at (239)498-0016.
