CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. — There has been a statewide uptick in thefts of boating and fishing equipment, according to the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies say this is the time of year when fishing in Charlotte County is a very popular activity, bringing and influx of people and opportunity for criminals to get their hands on unsecured items.
