SOUTHWEST FLORIDA-- The Florida Forest Service is warning Charlotte and Lee Counties are at a very high risk for wildfire today, April 27, 2018. The other counties in Southwest Florida are seeing a moderate risk.

In Charlotte County firefighters are working to fully contain a brush fire near Washington Loop Road and Duncan Road. The fire is 95% contained at last check. We're told one building was threatened.

Hendry County firefighters are working to get the "833" fire contained. The Caloosahatchee Forestry Center says the fire is 60% contained and about 400 acres in size. The fire is burning just south of County Road 832 on the west side of the road. The flames are in a grassy area, which made the fire grow quickly. However, no buildings were threatened.

No cause for either fire has been released.
