NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla -- More storms are on the way, but some people from Wednesday nights storms were struck hard. Mother nature was kind to some, but others weren’t so lucky, a tree was uprooted and came down on one house in North Fort Myers during last nights storm.
Some people saw hail fall on their cars, and neighbors like Ronald Deering, saw his flag get torn up by the strong winds. But he was home when he heard a tree crash down on his neighbor's yard.
"It sounded like a freight train was coming through here, I mean the wind was, I bet you the wind was blowing 60-65 at least," Deering said.
The tree uprooted, a car tangled by the roots, and the fence is caved in. The owner tells us she can’t use one of her rooms in her house now, but Ronald says he’ll help them get back on their feet.
"We’re trying to work to get it off, but waiting to see what’s going to happen on it," Deering said.
The homeowner tells Fox 4 she’s not sure what the total cost of damages is right now, she says she’ll have to wait to see when they got the tree off of her home.
