UPDATE (5 AM)--A 46-year-old male from Arcadia has died in a crash that happened in Charlotte County yesterday.
A report from Troopers says a vehicle was traveling north in the center lane on I-75, south of Jones Loop Road.
A Tractor-Trailer was traveling north in the outside lane, north of the vehicle, south of Jones Loop Road.
The driver of the vehicle changed into the outside lane and failed to observe the tractor-trailer.
As a result, the front portion of the vehicle collided with the rear part of the tractor-trailer.
After the collision, the vehicle traveled off the roadway to the right, collided with a watery ditch, and came to final rest.
The driver was pronounced deceased at a local area hospital.
The crash remains under investigation.
