UPDATE 2/23:
At about 5:40 p.m., a pickup truck attempted to turn west onto Palm Beach Boulevard (State Road 80), in front of a car that was traveling east.
The front of the car T-boned the left side of the truck, causing it to overturn.
The 74-year-old driver and her 73-year-old passenger were killed in the crash. Both were from Fort Myers.
The 20-year-old man from LaBelle driving the car was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital in serious condition.
The crash remains under investigation.
Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that killed two people on Palm Beach Boulevard.
The deceased were traveling in the same vehicle.
The other driver has been trauma alerted to Lee Memorial Hospital.
All eastbound lanes and all but one westbound lane of Palm Beach Boulevard are shut down.
FHP is asking drivers to please avoid the area and seek an alternate route.
