FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla. — A new light on Fort Myers Beach will allow the island to become more pedestrian friendly.

This afternoon town council approved an agreement with Lee County to install a traffic signal at the intersection of Crescent Street and Estero Boulevard.

The light will be timed with other lights nearby to allow pedestrians to walk through safely.

No word on when the installation will begin.
