CAPE CORAL, Fla - A contractor hopes to get his trailer full of tools back. Robert Thomas has tried everything to try and find his stolen stuff since it was taken almost three weeks ago.
"It was secured to the best of our ability," Thomas said. "It didn't stop them. A determined criminal is going to get what they want."
Thomas filed a report with Cape Coral police back in February. He told the police officer he locked up his trailer the Friday before.
"They had an officer out here. I listed everything I could think of what was in it," Thomas said.
Thomas took to social media in order to get the word out about his stolen trailer and tools.
"I posted pictures on Facebook that have had a quite a few shares," Thomas said. "We've been looking at Craigslist and pawn shops to see if any tools have showed up, but so far we haven't found anything yet," he added.
In the meantime, Thomas's friends have helped him so he can continue to work on jobs.
"I have some contractor friends that have helped me out," Thomas said. "They've loaned me some tools to get through it and keep carrying on."
Thomas shared his story in order to warn others to protect their things.
"I want to make people aware in Cape Coral to keep a better eye on their stuff so they don't lose their trailer and tools like I did," Thomas said.
