Thieves brutally beat, steal phone, pub sub from person in Cape Coral

CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- An investigation is underway after a person was brutally beaten and robbed in Cape Coral.

It happened in a field on the 1900-2000 block of SE 16th Place near Del Prado Boulevard. According to the police report, the victim was walking home from a nearby Publix.

Cape Coral Police say the victim was jumped by three people, put in a chokehold, and punched the victim who was left with facial injuries. The thieves nabbing the victim's cellphone, wallet, not mention the pub sub.

“I can’t believe it, we feel cape coral is very safe place ya know,” said Nehal Pervez, Cape Coral.

Nehal Pervez has lived down the street from where the attack took place for more than two decades.

“Me and my wife walk around the street, we’ve never had any problems,” said Pervez.

But now, “we definitely have to be more careful," said Pervez.

The report says the victim had to seek medical attention due to injuries and plans to press charges.

According to the report a support life coach reported the robbery.
