LEE COUNTY, Fla. — The Lee County School District is taking a different approach to discipline this school year with the launch of a new program.
The "prevention center" will help students accused of certain alcohol or drug offenses.
The students will be placed in the program for 20 days instead of going to the "success academy" for more than double that the time.
During that time, they can use their chrome book and google classroom to keep up with their work while also getting counseling and other services.
