If the government shutdown lasts into tax season, the public will be affected.

According to Forbes, these are just a few of the things that will be put on hold.

  • Tax refunds will not be issued.
  • 1040 X forms, also known as amended returns, will be processed.
  • E-filing will be put on hold.
  • Non-disaster relief transcripts will not be processed.

However, if you owe money, you are still expected to pay.
