UPDATE: Florida Gulf Coast University surprised recent graduate of North Fort Myers High School, Pamela Manning, with a $4,000 grant this morning on FOX 4 Morning News.

FORT MYERS, Fla.— Perfect attendance for an entire school year is something to brag about, but one North Fort Myers High School student graduated over the weekend without missing a day of school since Pre-K.

When Pamela Manning was born, doctors told her parents she wouldn’t live past two-years-old due to a heart condition.

Despite a battle with Idiopathic Hypersomnia and Dysautonomia, Pamela Manning never missed a day of school and she has excelled in academics every step of the way.

Manning always made sure her doctor appointments were scheduled after 2 p.m. in order to keep her perfect attendance record.

In addition to her attendance, Manning’s resume is stacked with after-school activities.

She’s been involved in theater, track and cheerleading. Manning was also crowned homecoming queen this school year.

Manning graduated over the weekend and will be starting at Florida Gulf Coast University as a sophomore in the fall.
