Suspect sought in check cashing store armed robbery in Fort Myers

LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- Investigators have released a surveillance image of a man they say robbed a check cashing store in Fort Myers on Friday.

According to the Lee County Sheriff's Office, a white male entered that Advance America on Palm Beach Boulevard near State Road 31 just after 3:30 p.m.

The suspect had a handgun and demanded money. He left with an undisclosed amount of cash, and headed to a 7-Eleven store nearby. After a brief encounter there, he fled on foot.

Anyone with information on identity and/or whereabouts of the suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477). All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $3,000.
