Suspect in Hendry County shootings turns himself in

HENDRY COUNTY, Fla. -- A man who is linked to two attempted homicides last weekend has turned himself in to deputies in Hendry County.

Deputies say they responded to a shooting Saturday afternoon on South Riverside Street in the Montura Ranch Estates community west of Clewiston.

At the scene, they say they found two men with gunshot wounds. Both were flown to the hospital for treatment.

Deputies began searching for 31-year-old Samuel Rueda in connection to the shootings. Deputies say he turned himself in Tuesday night.

He was booked on two charges of Aggravated Battery. Additional charges may follow, as investigators continue to work the case.
