CLEWISTON, Fla. — Three teenagers are facing charges after investigators say one of them had a gun at school, according to the Hendry County Sheriff’s Office.
The Clewiston High School resource officer says around 8 a.m. Tuesday a tip came in that one of two brothers may have had a stolen handgun that they had purchased from a third student, who had taken it from his mother.
We're not releasing the students' names because of their age.
The SRO and assistant principal at the high school say the older brother had the gun.
Hendry County investigators say the 13-year-old who stole the gun from his mother was trying to sell it via a video on Snapchat.
The mother opted to file charges on all three juveniles, including her own son.
Her 13-year-old son is charged with Armed Burglary, Grand Theft of a Firearm, Dealing in Stolen Property, Transferring the Firearm to a Minor and Sale of Stolen Property via Internet.
A 16-year-old student was charged with Possession of a Firearm on School Property, Grand Theft of a Firearm, Dealing in Stolen Property, Possession of Synthetic Narcotic within 1000’ of a School and Possession of Drug Equipment on School Campus.
A 15-year-old student was charged with Dealing in Stolen Property and Sale of Stolen Property via Internet.
All three are currently being held at the Department of Juvenile Justice.

A Clewiston High School student is accused of bringing a gun on campus today.
Around 8 this morning the school resource officer at Clewiston Middle got a tip that a high school student had a gun.
The SRO at the high school pulled the student from class and found a gun on him.
The student's now charged with possession of a firearm on a school campus and carrying a concealed firearm.
Deputies say students are safe.
However, there could be more deputies on campus, helping with the investigation.
