CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- $13 million, one year and seemingly endless construction. That’s what it took to make Project Streetscape a reality.
Officials and project leaders joined the community to celebrate the revamped area of Cape Coral at the S.E. 47th Terrace Dedication Ceremony on Tuesday.
The year-long project has been especially hard on business owners in the area. We’ve told you about it through the process, and Cape Coral Mayor Joe Coviello addressed it Tuesday.
“I want to thank all of you for your patience, and for dealing with what came your way. It wasn’t easy, I know it cut in to some of your profits”, he said.
Business owners Fox 4 talked to agreed, including Noela Chocolates and Confections owner Ande Grant. “It was tough while it was going on, but we knew that it was something that the business was trying to do to upgrade the area”.
Mark Hendry of Duval’s Restaurant says he’s looking forward to the future.
