TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Florida residents who live in Florida and receive food stamps may soon face changes on what they can purchase with their electronics benefits card.
State Representative Dane Eagle of the 77th District is proposing a bill that would prohibit use of the card for multiple activities including purchasing medical marijuana.
Eagle's proposed Bill would also prohibit use of the card at cigar stands, tobacco stores, and tattoo shops.
The bill states those who lose their card five times will have to pay a fee each time they need a replacement. The fee would then be deducted from the users benefits.
