FORT MYERS, Fla. — A Fort Myers couple had an unexpected visitor drop by their doorstep last night.
Torrie Heathcoat posted about the seven-foot gator that entered their garage on her Facebook account:
"I ask myself constantly why weird **** always happens to me! Here’s one more!
Questions answered:
*We live on a lake and I had just seen our gator swimming earlier in the evening.
*We weren’t hanging meat in the garage trying to attract him! I promise LOL
*Our garage door was open for a total of 10 mins while Andy went to get gas.
*On his way back through the garage our new friend was chillin and HISSING by the door into our house! Andy is lucky he wasn’t attacked-he was less than a foot from him! I thought he was kidding and I opened the door only to be face to face with our guest! I will never forget that moment of fear!
I called 911 and they dispatched a lovely and calm police woman who stayed at the garage door until Fish and Wildlife arrived.
The pissed off gator was relocated to an alligator farm somewhere in North Fort Myers and will hopefully find the love of his life!
*No I didn’t crap my pants BUT I think I suffered a minor heart attack!*Florida friends it is mating season and gators roam.... Keep your garage door closed!!!!!

Torrie's husband helped the FWC trapper carry the gator and load him in the truck.
Their special guest measured in at 7 feet!
