CHARLOTTE COUNTY -- If you see smoke coming from the sewer in your home in Port Charlotte, don't worry.
Utility crews will be smoke testing the sanitary sewer system beginning Monday, August 12 through September 6.
The smoke-testing is necessary to help identify potential problems and what might need to be repaired.
The tests force a non-toxic, artificially-created smoke into sewer pipes. It's not harmful to you, animals, or plants.
The testing will begin along Breezeswept Avenue and work through the neighborhoods to the south. View map here.
