FORT MYERS, Fla. -- A convenience store employee told investigators that she found a card skimmer device on a gas pump in Gateway on Friday.
It was at the 7-Eleven store on Gateway Boulevard at Griffin Drive.
The employee says that she was doing visual inspections on the pumps that morning and noticed tampering on Pump #4. A technician with Guardian Fuel Tech was notified and he found a skimmer device inside the pump.
Authorities were notified of the device.
The employee says the device may have been there for several days, even though they inspect the pumps daily.
