LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- The trial for a man accused of plotting to kill his wife, a prominent Bonita Springs doctor, is being delayed this summer.

Investigators say Mark Sievers hired Curtis Wright and Jimmy Rodgers to kill his wife, Teresa Sievers, in 2015.

At a pretrial hearing Thursday, the defense said they still need time to prepare for the trial, which was scheduled for June 3rd.

A new trial is tentatively scheduled for September.

Sievers and Rodgers face the death penalty if convicted.

Wright is currently serving a 25-year prison sentence after taking a plea deal.
