FORT MYERS, Fla. -- A Lee County man who says he was shot at a Fort Myers nightclub is now suing the club's owner.
Fox 4 was there early in the morning on May 17th when Johnny Cooper says he was shot at the Fly Lounge.
He says because the club had a history of shootings and other criminal issues, its owners should have done more to keep the guests safe.
The lawsuit says security measures there, were "non-existent." He also named the property manager in the lawsuit.
The City of Fort Myers says the Fly Lounge must be closed by July 31st.
