CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. -- The former child actor known for his role in the 2003 hit movie School of Rock has been arrested several times in Southwest Florida recently, accused of stealing guitars to re-sell at pawn shops.

Joseph Gaydos, Jr. was 11 years old when he played lead guitarist Zack "Zack-Attack" Mooneyham in the film. Now a Florida resident, he's facing grand theft charges in two counties.

Gaydos was arrested February 14th in Punta Gorda when, according to a Charlotte County Sheriff's Office report, he admitted stealing and pawning two guitar amps worth a combined $2100 from his father, who turned him in to deputies.

Gaydos reportedly confessed to pawning the amps in Fort Myers and said he wanted to get treatment for a severe heroin/Fentanyl addiction. He was booked in the Charlotte County jail and charged with grand theft.

His troubles did not end there, though. Gaydos also confessed to investigators that he stole guitars from several music stores in Fort Myers, Sarasota, and Venice has several of them pawned. He also is facing grand theft charges in Sarasota County for those thefts.
