LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- Deputies have made an arrest for robbery and child neglect after an incident at a Lehigh Acres convenience store Monday.

It happened at the Star Food Mart in the 1400 block of Lee Boulevard, just before 1 p.m.

According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, a masked gunman entered the store and demanded money. The employee complied and the gunman fled from the store in a white Nissan Sentra.

After acquiring the tag number of the getaway vehicle, deputies tracked the rental car to a home, where a suspect fled as deputies arrived.

Deputies pursued the vehicle through a rural area, where they stopped the car using a PIT maneuver.

The driver, 24-year-old Tony Youngblood, Sr., was arrested and charged with Robbery with a Firearm, Fleeing and Eluding and Neglect of a Child, as Youngblood’s child was found unsecured in the back seat of the vehicle.
