A plan to connect two wastewater treatment plants in Lee County will lead to road closures along a portion of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd for several weeks.

Beginning Tuesday, January 16th, at 7 p.m. MLK Jr. Blvd will be reduced to one lane in each direction between Cranford Ave and Velasco Street for underground pipe installation at Palm Avenue.

Drivers should expect lane shifts and changes to traffic patterns until Mid-February.

  • Palm Avenue will be closed at the intersection of MLK Jr. Blvd
  • The eastbound right-turn lane on MLK Jr. Blvd to Palm Avenue will be closed.
  • The westbound left-turn lane on MLK Jr. Blvd to Palm Avenue will be closed.

The temporary road closures are expected to be in place until Mid-February or whenever work is complete.
