LEE COUNTY, Fla. – With a new school year getting under way, children will once again be walking to school in neighborhoods where registered sex offenders live.
Currently, the state of Florida has more than 76,000 offenders and sex predators who were convicted of sex crimes in its statewide database.
Sex offenders are required to register their permanent address with law enforcement.
