Police: Snapchat threat not aimed at Charlotte High School

Posted

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. – Police want to notify parents in Punta Gorda that a social media threat thought to be targeting Charlotte High School has been debunked.

According to the Punta Gorda Police Department, a post featuring a young white male with what appears to be a gun has been circulating online.

The threat makes mention of “CHS”, which some took to be Charlotte High School.  But after investigation, Punta Gorda Police and the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office determined it was posted by a student at Clovis High School in New Mexico.

Clovis police say this student was arrested for the threat.
