A man's 66-year-old ex-girlfriend is accused of vandalizing his home by ruining his palm trees. It happened on Sunday just after 9:00 pm on June Parkway in North Fort Myers.

Police say when they arrived at her ex-boyfriend's home they saw Katherine Wilson, 66, with clippers in her hands. Wilson attempted to run away but deputies quickly caught her. They say she smelled like alcohol.

The victim, a 66-year-old man, says Wilson came over around 9:00 pm and started banging on his door. He told her to go home but she refused. He told deputies he then heard something hit his back door and saw that Wilson had thrown a clay pot at the door, breaking the pot and leaving some damage on the door. He says after that he saw her cutting his palm trees with clippers.

Deputies say Wilson also banged on the neighbor's doors and windows, saying "you better come to your door."

Deputies found the broken pot and the damage to the back door and torn cables on the outside of the house. They also noted that the palm trees had been stripped of most of their branches.

Wilson was arrested and is charged with damage to property and disorderly intoxication.
