FORT MYERS, Fla. — Police said they’re looking for a man they think is responsible for an attempted kidnapping on Linhart Avenue and Cortez Boulevard.

Police said the suspect was driving a black four-door pickup truck when he pulled out a gun and tried to force a little girl inside the truck. They said she was able to get away without getting hurt, but they’re still looking for the suspect.

The suspect is described as six feet tall and was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, gray pants and black shoes.

Police said the suspect also has tattoos on his neck and shoulders. And they said he has a tattoo of a snake on his forearm.

Juliette, who lives in the area, said she’s shocked it happened in her neighborhood. “Very surprised because it’s an extremely quiet neighborhood. And there are a lot of kids. I guess if someone wanted to target kids they would know that children are walking around. But it’s just unusual,” she said.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Fort Myers Police.
