CAPE CORAL, Fla. — Police announced a break in the case of four bank robberies in Cape Coral and Fort Myers over the last 16 months.
49-year-old Anthony Masters was arrested early Wednesday morning in Cape Coral.
Masters was charged with the January 22, 2018 robbery of Wells Fargo bank’s Pine Island Road location.
Today’s arrest follows recent bank robberies in Cape Coral, for which Masters was developed as a suspect.
In addition, the investigation revealed that he was also the suspect in the Bank Robbery at the Bank of the Ozarks on January 8, 2018 and on May 17, 2019
Masters have been booked 15 times since 1987 on a list of crimes that include weapons offenses, grand theft, burglary, contempt and hit and run causing property damage.
He was confirmed to be a convicted Florida felon and not allowed to be in possession of a firearm.
Detectives charged Masters with 3-counts of Robbery and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
