FORT MYERS, Fla.-- Plans to redevelop a local landmark are getting a major boost.
The Southwest Florida Community Foundation says they now have the $5 million to help create a "Collabratory" in Downtown Fort Myers.
The money will help the foundation renovate and remake the historic Atlantic Coast Railway Depot.
Once it's finished, the “Collaboratory” will feature spaces for work, gatherings, and special events. The plans also include state-of-the-art technology for regional collaboration.
The project should be complete by the summer of 2018.
