A pet owner was arrested after his dog was found with a BB gun shot wound to the head, said North Port Police.
62-year-old Roman Shkraba was arrested and charged with one count of Animal Abuse causing a cruel death/pain and suffering.
Police say they were called to Shkraba's home where they found the family pet named "Fluffy", a 12-year-old Cocker Spaniel. The dog reportedly had labored breathing, a fractured jaw, stab wounds, and internal injuries.
Fluffy had to be euthanized due to the injuries, said NPPD.
Police later discovered that Shkraba purchased a BB gun on Black Friday.
He was arrested and remains behind bars.
