LEE COUNTY, Fla.-- You can help the Gulf Coast Humane Society reach their adoption goal for the year. So far, the shelter has had nearly 650 adoptions and their goal is 2,340.
The pet of the week is Peanut, a 15-year-old Yorkie mix breed. He is part of the shelter's senior to senior program. The shelter partners with local nursing homes and takes senior dogs to bond with the residents.
Since Peanut is a senior, his adoption fee is reduced to only $75. If you're not able to take a pet home, you can always donate items, money or volunteer with the shelter.
